About Teeth Cleaning
Teeth cleaning is a procedure for lightening the teeth by removing discoloration and stains. It is a popular cosmetic dental treatment for improving the look of stained or discoloured teeth. Teeth Cleaning Procedure
Teeth Cleaning follows a three-step procedure as follows: 1) Preparation Upon visiting your dentist, he or she will thoroughly examine your teeth. This is because the presence of any dental problems determines whether teeth cleaning is appropriate for you or not. For example, your dentist will first treat dental cavities before deciding to whiten your teeth. The reason behind it is that the whitening gel can penetrate the decayed areas, thus affecting the gums and the roots. 2) Whitening Your dentist will begin by applying a substance to cover around the gums to protect them from the bleaching gel. Afterward, the dentist will apply the whitening gel and activate it using a laser light shined on your teeth. Typically, this in-office procedure takes between 30 to 90 minutes and can be completed in 1 to 3 appointments. In case your teeth are excessively discolored and not possible to completely whiten them during the 3 appointments, your dentist may suggest further bleaching at home for several days. 3) Follow-up It is important to follow up with your dentist if your gums become sore or white after undertaking teeth cleaning.
